Quick guide

What can Bill Splitter help you do?

Free bill splitter. Enter total, people count, and tip percentage to calculate an even per-person amount.

Best for

Use Total, People, and the fee percentage when everyone is sharing the same bill equally. The breakdown distinguishes the subtotal, fee, and grand total. It does not track individual orders or settle several people who have already paid different amounts.

How to use it

Check whether the entered total already includes the fee before selecting the inclusive option. A subtotal of 1,200 with 10% added becomes 1,320, or 330 for four people. Select inclusive only when the entered total already contains that fee.

How to read the result

For an inclusive total, the subtotal is total divided by one plus the rate, not total minus the same percentage. Displayed amounts are rounded to whole units. Agree how to handle any rounding remainder before collecting individual payments.

Privacy and limits

Only numbers are required; there is no need for guests' names, card details, or receipt images. Calculation happens in this browser page and does not initiate payments or send reminders. Check the surrounding screen before sharing a result screenshot.

People must be a positive whole number. The currency symbol does not perform conversion or determine tax rules. Individual purchases, discounts, refunds, and uneven contributions need a separate agreement rather than this equal-share calculation.
