Quick guide

What can Countdown to Date help you do?

Free countdown timer. Shows remaining days, hours, minutes, seconds to your target date.

Best for

Use this to keep an event, deadline or anniversary visible as a running time difference. You can name the target and select a date and time, but the page does not create notifications, synchronize calendars or alert you after it is closed.

How to use it

Enter an event name and a target in your device local date and time. The initial target is the next New Year at midnight. Festival buttons replace both the title and target with the next occurrence at local midnight; the display updates each second.

How to read the result

Days, hours, minutes and seconds are derived from the elapsed millisecond difference, with each day equal to 24 hours. For past targets, only the day field receives a minus sign, including -0 for less than a day; the remaining fields show elapsed time.

Privacy and limits

The widget keeps the title and target in the current page and does not submit them or write them to browser storage. It does not restore a custom countdown when reopened. Event names can still reveal private plans during screen sharing or in screenshots.

Device clock settings, timezone changes and daylight-saving transitions affect the result; a displayed day is not necessarily a calendar-day boundary. Clearing the date can leave previous numbers visible. Lunar New Year presets depend on built-in dates or browser calendar support, not a notification service.
