Quick guide

What can Strong Password Generator help you do?

Free password generator with custom length (4-128), character types, strength scoring, and crack-time estimation.

Best for

Create a random password that fits an account form with specific length and character restrictions. The default is 16 characters with uppercase, lowercase, digits, and symbols enabled; excluding ambiguous characters can help when a password must be transcribed manually.

How to use it

Choose a length from 4 to 128 and select the permitted character groups. Keep at least one group enabled. Generate and every setting change replace the current password. Use Copy only after settling on the options, then store the selected password securely.

How to read the result

The generated password contains at least one character from each enabled group and is shuffled using browser cryptographic randomness. Strength and Crack time are estimates from length and assumed character pools, with a fixed rate of ten billion guesses per second.

Privacy and limits

The password is generated in this browser with crypto.getRandomValues, without a CDN library or password upload in the widget. It is displayed as readable text, not masked. Screenshots, screen sharing, extensions, and clipboard history can expose a password after generation.

Crack time is not a security guarantee: its pool estimate does not exactly reflect the symbol set or ambiguous-character exclusions. The tool does not check account rules, reuse, or breaches. Disabling every group leaves no password, even if old strength bars remain.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should a password be?

A longer random password improves resistance to guessing. Use a unique password for each account; the displayed crack time is a simplified estimate, not a security guarantee.

Are generated passwords stored?

No — generated in your browser only.
