Best for
Read a QR code from a saved screenshot or a printed card before deciding whether to follow its link. The result is shown as text, making this useful for inspecting a destination or retrieving plain text without automatically opening it.
How to use it
Choose Start Camera and grant camera access, or use Upload Image for a picture your browser can read. Hold one clear code in view. Camera scanning stops after a successful decode; Stop ends it manually. Use Copy to take the decoded text.
How to read the result
Result contains the decoded payload. Open Link appears only when that text begins with http:// or https://, and opens it only when clicked. Wi-Fi and contact payloads remain text. No QR code detected means the selected image yielded no readable code.
Privacy and limits
Starting a scan or selecting an image downloads jsQR from jsDelivr. The tool decodes images and camera frames locally rather than uploading them to a recognition server. A QR code may contain credentials or a private link; inspect the decoded text before sharing. Open Link navigates to the destination only when clicked.
Camera access needs browser support, permission, and a secure context. A blocked decoder download also prevents image scanning. Blur, glare, small codes, or damage can defeat decoding. The tool does not verify destinations or scan ordinary barcodes; inspect an unfamiliar link before opening it.
