Rhyme Finder
Find words that rhyme with anything
ℹ️ Uses spelling only (the last 2-4 letters), not pronunciation. Results are rhyme ideas, not a phonetic rhyme judgment.
Quick guide
What can Rhyme Finder help you do?
Free rhyming dictionary. Enter any word to find rhyming words for songwriting, poetry, rap lyrics. 172,000-word dictionary, instant results.
Best for
Collect similarly spelled word endings as starting points for lyrics, titles or wordplay. This is an ending matcher, not a pronunciation dictionary: it has no phonemes, stress patterns or accent data. Read candidate words aloud before deciding whether they actually rhyme in your passage.
How to use it
Enter at least two English letters, up to the field’s 20-character limit, and search or press Enter. Nonletters are removed. LIGHT, TIME and HEART are available examples. Search again after editing, and use Retry if the same-site dictionary download fails.
How to read the result
The stricter group matches the last three letters, or four for inputs at least six letters long; two-letter inputs use both. The looser group matches two ending letters and excludes stricter matches. It displays at most 200 looser matches, while the total includes all matches.
Privacy and limits
A request downloads this site’s /data/enable.txt, then the browser keeps the list in page memory and compares endings locally. Your word is not sent to an external rhyme service. Only one word is needed, so there is no reason to paste an unpublished lyric.
Matching spelling does not guarantee matching sounds, and genuinely rhyming words with different endings can be missed. Groups describe suffix strictness rather than rhyme quality. No definitions or audio are provided. Editing clears previous results; enter at least two valid letters and search again.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are rhymes detected?
We match words with the same last 2-4 letters as your input. This catches most perfect rhymes (light/might/flight) but is not phonetic — "rough" and "though" share letters but don't rhyme.
For songwriting?
Yes! Especially useful for rap, pop, and poetry. The wider the rhyme net, the more creative options.
Perfect vs near rhymes?
"Perfect" = match last 3+ letters (light/might). "Near" = match last 2 letters (light/great).
