Quick guide

What can Salary to Hourly Calculator help you do?

Estimate an equivalent gross hourly wage from annual salary and hours per week, assuming 52 paid weeks per year.

Best for

Translate an annual salary into an equivalent hourly amount for a fixed weekly schedule. This is useful when comparing roles with different hours, but it does not identify which bonuses or benefits belong in the salary figure and is not an overtime-rate calculator.

How to use it

Enter a nonnegative annual salary and weekly hours greater than zero and no higher than 168. Defaults are 52,000 and 40. Enter annual pay, not a monthly paycheck or take-home amount. Changes recalculate immediately, and Reset restores the original example values.

How to read the result

Equivalent hourly pay divides annual salary by 52 and then by weekly hours. Average monthly pay simply divides annual salary by 12, so changing hours affects only the hourly figure. The default hourly result is 25; amounts use your input currency without conversion.

Privacy and limits

This branch uses only the salary and hours entered in the browser. Its code does not retrieve salary benchmarks, read contracts, or save personal income records. Approximate amounts work for comparisons; avoid including unnecessary identifying details when sharing a screenshot of an offer calculation.

The fixed 52-week assumption cannot be adjusted for actual working weeks, leave, or unpaid periods. Taxes, insurance, and withholding are excluded. This is an equivalent gross rate, not financial advice or a legally determined wage basis; do not treat it as an approved overtime rate.
