Best for
Use this to make short SQL queries easier to inspect by separating fields, conditions, and common clauses. It only reformats text: it has no database connection, execution feature, query-plan analysis, or dialect selector, and cannot establish whether a query is valid.
How to use it
Replace the prefilled query; editing updates the output, or use Format to run it again. Recognized quoted content and comments are temporarily protected before whitespace and keyword changes. If an unclosed-string warning appears, correct the original query before attempting to copy a result.
How to read the result
Supported keywords become uppercase and start new lines, while commas usually add a line break and two spaces. Protected text is restored afterward. Indentation is not based on a SQL syntax tree, so nested queries and dialect-specific constructs still need careful comparison.
Privacy and limits
SQL stays text within the browser: the widget does not connect to a database, send statements for execution, or store query history. User identifiers, table names, and confidential constants remain in the output. Copying does not anonymize them, so redact separately before sharing.
Whitespace collapsing can remove the newline after a -- comment and pull following SQL into that comment. Nested block comments are not fully supported either. Do not execute formatted statements containing comments or unusual dialect syntax without comparing their boundaries and meaning against the original.
